The portal would let out in front of a massive black tree, petrified with age and augmented with ruins. The tree is similar to the massive colony homes of some tribal bats, except this one appeared to have been decorated with stone walls and brick buildings that age had reclaimed.
The tree appeared to bear scars of war, and despite having been deserted for more than one hundred years... the feeling of the long departed can still be felt. A voice would suddenly ring in your head, "Greetings traveler..."
An orb of light formed by the group, before suddenly with a blinding light everything would change.
The tree for a moment seemed to return to life, broken buildings repairing themselves, the laughter of children and the voices of adults conversing and cheering. Suddenly bats seemed to appear from the air, happy, peaceful, alive. This vision would last another minute or two before fading back to the dead land. A burning urge to continue on having been etched into those who had left the portal.
Welcome to the ancient home... and grave... of the sanguine glint bats.

Drake arrived on the other side of the portal and the scene immediately revealed itself, looking like a burned out wasteland. He heard a voice in his head again, something he really didn't like, and frowned. The dragon had a guess as to where they had been transported. Just then, as if on cue, his theory was proven correct as the joyous scene flashed before him then returned to its normal, desolate state. Drake sighed and walked over to the tree. He leaned Guardian against it, figuring he'd be safe there, before walking forward timidly into the scene. He had no idea what to expect now.

The fox fell through the portal. She hit the ground but managed to absorb some of the energy of the fall. "Great, where are we now?" She asked as she looked around at the ruins. She seemed very unaware of what was going on. She brushed some dirt off her arm as she then looked over at Drake. "Oh yeah, I'm Courtney Fox, the queen of the enchanted forest." She then asked "Who are you anyways?"

Arthur stepped out of the portal, adjusting the sword at his waist, changing it from a sabre to the japanese sword known as a Katana, having been trained in the way of KenJutsu, the sword felt more comfortable to him at his waist than any other weapon, the golden handled and red bladed weapon glowed slightly in response to the magic in the area "This place...It feels...Dead" he muttered more to himself than anyone else.
