[Sorry for the name, I couldn't think of anything else. :8 ]
Even tho it was the middle of the day, the current weather made it seem like late evening with the storm passing through the ruins. Not the most severe to pass through, but still one that would keep most from being out.
Flying in from out over the ocean, a transport helicopter came fast and low, avoiding the treetops and the pending lock-ons of pursing drones. Robotnik's most likely, considering their obnoxious color scheme and the fact they resembled hawks.
"Warning. Warning. Warning."
"I KNOW." The feline in the pilot seat growled, having already taken damage when they were caught out over the ocean by the patrol. The constant missile alert ping only pissed her off that much more.
As they banked around a cliff fork that led deeper into the jungle, a spray of fire from the left side of the chopper crossed one of the drones and blew off its wing. 2 more left. "Raptor, how many more?!" The pilot called out to the fox on the left gun. The only thing exposing him as a fox was his tail. He was otherwise fully clothed in camo and armor like the pilot and the medic, who was hanging on for dear life, that was strapped in on one of the seats.
"2 MORE RINA!" The fox yelled to the pilot, over the sound of the running chopper engine and firing his mounted gun. "CONTACT RIGHT!" The medic called out, spotting it from out of the right gunner's window. One of the drones was coming in for a run from above their damaged side.
From the down on the ground, any watching the scene would only see the helicopter begin to turn left before the drone fired a volley of rounds. The left side of the chopper was able to return fire for a few seconds before it stopped, immediately before the burning drone slammed into their side. The drone took the tail of the chopper with it and caused them to go into a violent spin, quickly dissappearing into the tree line before the impact was heard and the sounds of the failing engine ceased, allowing the return of the jungle's silence and the soon to come rainstorm.
