Mike the Fisher
Basic
Name: Michael Gallows Jr.
Nickname(s): Mike, Mikey (“please don’t call me that”)
Gender: Male
Species: Fisher (a creature similar to a weasel)
Age: 13
Birth date: January 3rd
Birthplace: foothills of Pumpkin Hill
Occupation: Vagrant
Alignment: Lawful Good
Personality: Mike as an individual is jumpy, fidgety, and very near panic most of the time. He seems to be terrified by the world and everything in it, but does his best to be polite and functional in situations as they come up. He doesn’t always succeed.
Mike is a relatively nice kid in interaction, somewhat cowardly but not going to abandon his friends in disgrace. He simply has a very active sense of when it would be a good time to get out, and while he’d like to be a hero, he also has a very realistic perception of his own ability (or lack thereof) to do much against armies of robots. He’s clever and good with puzzles, but tends to lose his head under pressure (his already tenuous grasp on calmness flies straight out the window in a crisis)
A rather odd feature of Mike’s is that he seems absolutely determined not to go to sleep. While his effort is admirable, it’s a battle he’s doomed to lose, as he just plain has neither the resources nor the fortitude to keep himself awake against the needs of his body. Nonetheless, this self-induced insomnia has definitely left its mark on him. He’ll also often seem ill, though he insists he’s not sick.
Description: Mike’s fur is an unusual bleach white, though the presence of darker fur around the tips of his bangs and tail imply it wasn’t always that way. He has pale red eyes set above deep, dark bags- the battlefield casualties of his war against sleep. He’s quite a fluffy little guy, with extra fur sticking up in tufts on his shoulders, chest, and bangs.
Mike wears a pair of green-and-black sneakers that have seen better days, and a strange metal canister secured to his body with straps that he wears like a backpack. Despite discomfort, he is quite reluctant to take it off. The canister is hooked up to a pair of bulky, elbow-length gauntlets with green lights set into the back of the hand by means of a pair of glowing green tubes. Two more tubes pass over Mike’s shoulders to connect to a round metal disk that seems to be set into his skin. The tubes can be disconnected and the gauntlets and canister removed, but Mike prefers to keep them attached. It’s unknown what service this machine provides to Mike, if any.
Bio
Mike grew up in the foothills around Pumpkin Hill, a notoriously haunted zone. His father, Michael Gallows Sr., was doubly renowned for his research into ghost phenomena and for his paranoia. Not sharing in his father’s zeal, Mike quickly developed the survival strategy of hiding and dodging out of the way when experiments went wrong (as they often did), and generally wanted nothing to do with his father’s research. He’ll admit as much in conversation, if it’s brought up. Mike will also acknowledge that he ran away from home, but he’s stubbornly closemouthed about the specifics— he’s just adamant to not go back.
Extra: Standing at about 2’9”, Mike is rather short. He also tends to mumble.

Specialty:
Special Attacks: Mike seems to have access to a number of strange powers that manifest under strong psychological stress, though he’s presently unable to control it (and seems unaware that he’s causing it) The phenomena can range from sounds (pounding on walls and ceilings, inexplicable footsteps, sighs, and laughter) to the failure of electrical equipment, to lightbulbs and glass objects cracking or exploding, objects moving, or the appearance of strange silhouettes and shadows.
On intermittent occasions, Mike will suddenly panic and claim he's not alone or that someone else is there that he can't see. These 'invisible visitors', and the strange happenings that often follow them, seem to increase in frequency the longer he's gone without sleep.
