Candraurora "Sabrina" Kent
Basic
Name: Candraurora Kent
Nickname: Sabrina
Gender: Female; Girl
Species: American Bobtail cat
Age: Fifteen
Birth date: April 23
Birthplace: The suburbs of Station Square
Occupation: High School Student; Bus Girl for a restaurant part time
Alignment: Neutral; however, she will align herself with anyone that manages to convince or manipulate her.
Personality: Sabrina is one of your stereotypical happy-go-lucky types of girls. This cat is always smiling, giggles honestly at every cute event or any joke (even pathetic attempts at ones), and moves in quirky ways. This may be jutting her head, dancing slightly as she moves, or skipping instead of walking. Needless to say, she is almost endlessly energetic. Even if she is unhappy, she always has the appearance and the determination to be happy, trying to find all of the good things and everything that's fortunate in the world. Never rude, always sweet and treating others as kindly as she can, even when they're rude to her.
One of her best qualities is her gentle she is and tries to be. It's in the way she physically touches people, breaks bad news (she ends up being a little bit blunt with this sometimes, but not on purpose), how she interacts with people and helping them with problems. Making sure she doesn't hurt people is high on her list- though if people are offended by any behaviour she seems as harmless (such as being a little bit giddy in public), she just brushes it off.
One of her most unexpected traits is how attentive she is; when people are talking to her, she often moves around or looks elsewhere, as is part of her nature. Sabrina listens and she listens well, and is often in deep thought as to what people say and will make suggestions, she just can't help but to move a lot. The problems of others will more often become her concern than her own.
On the same note, she is relatively considerate. When she can, she offers a place to sleep for those in need for a night or two. She often buys dinner for others, and will lend (or give) money to those short on cash, saying that she doesn't really need it at the moment. If a favor is asked of her, it isn't uncommon for her to go out of her way to do it. When it comes to friends, she is extremely devoted to them beyond belief, so long as the friendship boat stays afloat, and sometimes after it's sunk.
Sabrina would often be described as full of 'care,' in multiple ways. Caring is a definite, obvious one. In most circumstances, she is, however, carefree. Unless feeling threatened or trying to find out a solution to the problem of a friend, nothing weighs on her mind. School, work, and environmental dangers mean very little to her problem-wise. This does not mean, however, that she isn't careful. If she feels threatened or sees an immediate threat, she knows to tread carefully, and does so until the immediate threat has passed, though it may cause her to be slightly paranoid for a little while.
Mean or nice, of the things Sabrina appreciates most, and practices herself (though being as kind about it as possible) is honesty. So long as people aren't going out of their way to hurt her, she figures that mean honesty is better than pretty lies, and prefers anyone who is more inclined to tell the truth. Sabrina does, however, respect privacy; she believes keeping a secret and telling a lie are two very separate identities.
If Sabrina gets what she believes to be a great idea into her head, there is few ways to get it out; when she knows what she wants, she strives to get it.
Like most that are happy on the outside but looking for friends, Sabrina is a lonely cat. At the moment, she has no close friends, is not particularly close with either of her parents, and has no other family in the nearby area. None of her coworkers are often with her outside of work, and she craves social interaction.
Her insistent behaviour, in terms with her loneliness, is a downfall of hers. She chases people for a little longer than she should, trying to make a relationship work. Even when people say outright, passively, or passive-aggressively push her away, she'll often come back anywhere between six to a couple dozen times, subconsciously trying to imprint her presence on the person. It makes her very annoying.
Unfortunately for Sabrina, she is rather disorganized. This means that she is often a little late with most things she does; getting to work (though she also leaves a few minutes late), getting to class, homework assignments, and meeting up with people. Without a doubt, she feels guilty, but it's a habit she hasn't yet broken.
It's easily to observe about Sabrina that she would be easily manipulated. With her trusting and caring nature, she would easily do almost anything for anyone. Her emotions are also relatively fragile; work on break them for a few days, and they will become broken. It is an honest wonder that so few people, thus far, have taken notice of this and used it to take advantage of her. This is especially true since she is so eager to please others, which is part of the reason why she's so generous, but makes it easy to use her- and the fact that she is relatively gullible. When the slightly more time-consuming manipulation fails, another thing to note is that since she is so weak, she is also easily intimidated. So long as it's not any sort of stereotypical teenage or high school threats, Sabrina is pretty easy for caving in- and so long as pain is a factor, it makes her loyalty waver.
One of the cat's secret weaknesses is her jealousy. However, her jealousy is not violent, and she tends to handle it very well, so far. Her jealousy is usually activated by the freedoms other has the she doesn't, and so often times she's a bit jealous of those with money- not for having money, but for having the means to get away. The other people she tends to feel the most jealous of is those with either a lot of or very close friends, those people who seem to be able to get on with anyone, or those who become friends with someone she's been trying to get close to.
One of Sabrina's largest dreams to be able to adventure freely. The major reason she has a job is so that she can have the money to get from place to place when she's older, and should she achieve this dream, she would never settle down for many years.
While liking many things, there are few things that Sabrina loves. The first is having company. Secondly, of course, is having fun. This can be quiet, peaceful funs, such as reading and meeting new people in a coffee shop, standard views of fun such as amusement parks, or adrenaline-pumping fun that involves a risk.
In terms of trivia, other things that make Sabrina very happy are peppermint tea (with or without sweeteners), forget-me-not flowers, men wearing ties, girls wearing bows or ribbons, and finds pet rodents sweet and endearing. On the other end of the spectrum, she detests dishonesty (obviously), gory movies, and extreme heat.
Description: As stated before, Sabrina is an American Bobtail cat, meaning that her tail is much shorter (about half the length) of that of a usual cat. She is a bright green in color, with small, random patches over her body (and on the tops of her ears) that are a slight more forest green. Her ears a tad long an moderately padded with white fur on the inside, but is one of the softest parts of her body. Her stomach, muzzle, and arms are the same, soft white. Sabrina is of a long-fur bobcat breed, her hair scraggily, not fluffy.
Upon her head are two green, drooping sprouts of fur that look a lot like hair, that she quite enjoys and refuses to cut , even though they often get in her eyes. Her actual hair is quite long, usually pulled back into a large, high ponytail that reaches the bottom of her shoulders. The bottom of her hair is dyed a pale, soft pink, and her bangs in front are short and uneven. Her eyes, like most anthros, are relatively large with a lot of white showing, but her eyes are colored a soft brown, shining strongly enough that they even glimmer in the dark. Her nose is a bit large for a cats, and rather prominent, but her mouth is a bit petite.
Sabrina looks a little bit disproportional; while being short (as she has not yet hit a proper growth spurt), she is also rather slim, as if the lower half of her body had been stretched out. Her neck is long, shoulders petite, and torso slim. Her arms are a bit long and her legs a bit short, making her appear a bit demented and gangly, though her doctors said she should grow into herself by adulthood. Her claws are a bit chipped from lack of care.
Sabrina's ponytail is held up by a bright orange ribbon, wrapped around several times, and tied into a large bow. She wears a light blue, strapped dress that is shaped nicely, but not poofy, hitting just about her kneecaps. There is a light, translucent frill at the dresses bottom. She has put her own touch on it by using a ribbon identical to the one in her hair as a decorative sash around her hips, but not in a bow; it's tucked in on itself, two tails hanging just behind her left hip. Sabrina wears no gloves, as she tends to rip them with her claws, but does wear several bangles on her left arm, about three inches worth. She wears white thigh-high socks, of course torn at the end because of her claws, but her feet are covered by a pair of navy blue converse- with rainbow shoelaces.
Bio
Sabrina's story winds back to two thousand years ago. Faerie was an abundant, but secret- invisible to mortals- race. Shapeshifters, they often liked to have fun with humans- as faeries are wont to do. Taking one joke a little too far, a few dozen faeries swindled a tribe of humans into their grasp, and got them drunk off of faerie wine; anyone who knows anything about faerie mythos would tell you "Do not eat their food, do not drink their wines"- doing so causes said mortal to turn into a human.
As they began to sober, losing their mortal lives, the half-humans fled to find their loved ones. Inevitably, this led to a few pregnancies between mortals and the half-faerie folk. The children of these people were Psychics- more powerful than their mortal counterparts, but less powerful than their faerie counterparts- in most cases. The Psychics had the power to see the future, read minds, in those very powerful , telekinesis.
In modern times, the Psychics are a mostly extinct race, and the Faerie- at least Sabrina's ancestors- are long dead. After generations of the Psychics and the humans breeding, the lines have worn too thin; very few of the 'new generations' have any of their abilities at all. Most that do pass it off as feelings of deja vu or coincidence, since it comes and goes in flashes with no control over it. Sabrina is one of the few that still has the power sleeping inside of her.
At the time that Sabrina's mother became pregnant with her, she knew that she had something bizarre happening to her body- she knew that her seeing the future in brief flashes and the fact that she heard whispering belonging to no one when she was around people couldn't have been a coincidence. Curious, she turned to New Age spiritualities, seeking for the answers, and believed she had been blessed by the gods with some power that she had to honor the earth with. As a tribute, she decided to name her child Candraurora- a mixture of the two names Candra and Aurora, both goddesses. Her husband, at first supportive, became concerned; New Age was no longer a curiosity or a hobby for it, it was a strict way of life. It was an obsession. He contemplated more than once about taking Candraurora once she was born and running away with her as his wife slowly drifted out of New Age and into the Occult as her obsession increased.
On April twenty-third, the mother gave birth to a perfectly healthy American Bobtail girl. As she recovered, her husband watched as she was handed the baby to hold for the first time; the insanity in her eyes slowly faded, and she broke out in a pure, happy smile, and he knew he couldn't take Candraurora away from her.
Her mother's return to sanity didn't last very long. For the first year of Candraurora's innocent life, she returned to her level and became intensely worse. The father watched his wife spend more and more time in isolation in the bedroom, locking the door for hours on end. Trying to keep the family income afloat, the father continued to work, but may come home to a starving Candraurora, shunned by her mother for six to eight (sometimes even longer) hours straight, abandoned in the living room. He was lucky that he always found her in time, and was able to nurse her back to health.
When the baby was fourteen months old, the husband met his drawing line. He came home not only to find the door locked, but Candraurora was missing. Considering she was left alone every other time, he did not find this to be a good sign. He immediately began to shove his body against the bedroom door, trying to break in, and it splintered under his weight. Inside, he saw as his wife was holding a knife to their baby girl- his baby girl- and reacted immediately, once again taking his Candraurora in his arms just in the nick of time. His wife was raving, saying that the child needed open wounds to 'allow the spirits of the goddesses to enter her body and protect her.' Having enough, he held his child in one hand, and called the police in the other His wife ran from the house in hysteria, babbling incoherently. The police arrived, but after that night, his wife was never seen again.
As Candraurora got older, her father was relieved to see her develop normally. None of her childhood trauma seemed to stick with her; by age three, she was able to talk, walk, and was learning to read. She was getting along with children her age and was learning to make friends; most importantly, she was never distraught by the fact that she needed a babysitter most days he was working, and never thought he'd leave her alone. She went through normal stages, including a brief 'eww, boys have cooties stage!', though he found it adorable that it never lasted long.
When she was seven, Candraurora come home pouting. "Daddy," she asked, "what's my middle name again?" Feeling quizzical, he told her, and she told him that from that moment out, she would like to be called Sabrina instead. When asked why, she replied that she was tired of explaining to everyone that she had a weird name, and that it was so much simpler to say and spell. Since her name reminded him of his insane wife still, he agreed, and it has stuck to this day.
The problems began as she grew. She didn't grow the same way as everyone else did; some the interests morphed with her classmates, others didn't. She didn't begin liking make up as others did, though her interest in media developed. She didn't get the cute, giggly crushes on boys until several years after her fellow female classmates. In short, her interests staggered with those of her peers, and her friends began to drop her.
This never changed, but it did help Sabrina find a bit more self worth. As she turned fourteen, she already understood that all she wanted to do was try to make the world a happier place, and to see the world, anywhere and everywhere. At the same time, she begun to understand how her father worked; he was nervous about taking about their mother (he would always change the subject), and he always seemed to be worried about providing for them, muttering about the economy and how each paycheck could be his last. So, to take some of the stress off of him, she searched for a couple weeks and found an after school job working as a bus girl, and started paying for her own expenses. She's been doing this for over a year now.
Extra: She has the potential of unlocking her Psychic powers, but it has not been realized.

Special Attacks: Foresight [dormant]: As she has not developed her Psychic powers yet, this ability remains unknown and unusable to her. This ability gives her a brief look into the future to foresee her opponent(s) next attack(s) without needing to focus and with a little effort. However, if Sabrina actively works to change this future, she is rendered unable to use the ability again for a varying amount of time- dependent on her skill at the time, of course, and how much adrenaline is pumping through her body.
