Alrighty, now that I have my room back it will be easier to type.
My idea for and event to break the ice; Spacial rifts and warps. All around the air is distorted with rips in reality. People, places, and things are changing colors they shouldn't be, weather anomalies, people in particularly bad areas become forgetful, strange, and aggressive. Some rips in reality may cause you to walk on walls when you otherwise couldn't, along with various other effects such as switching up your stats.
Many animals who are able are evacuating Angel island, signaling that something is definitely up in that area. A light in the Space Colony Ark? Something suspicious is happening.
I want to flesh this idea out more with some feedback. :v

I'm definitely down for that, maybe we could do something big like this every now and then (kind of similar to how our chaos emerald system works) Have a huge event that affects a certain zone or two.

I like the idea of having it actively even based, with isolated areas being affected at one time.
Though my ideas with the Ark and Angel Island will most likely be static until the story is resolved.

Eggman should SO be in on this. I think it could be the repercussions of a scheme of his. The Doctor has shown a desire to control space and time in the games(see Generations) and as a result I think he could be at it again. I don't see the rifts being the goal of his plans, but rather a side-effect. The goal would be total control of space and time, in typical Eggman fashion. The rifts will just be an unfortunate side effect the good doctor could care less about and just may happen to pose a threat to the time stream...
Perhaps the plan is being launched from Ark?
Anyway, there is a lot to work with here, but I think this could be connected to an Eggman plot...ultimately the word is yours, Sterling.

I'd love it to be Eggman's doing. That was my intention for it to stem from some research on the Ark being exploited.
If you want you can help me be in charge of this, like a co-event master for this particular event. I would be totally ok with you having control over this event if you want Eggman to be the cause of it.
