You've heard of painting the town red, but this is ridiculous! All the buildings have turned all shades of red. Just being in the city will change your colors too, with all of the citizens turning into a virtual spectrum. Looks like this time, we're taking "follow your rainbow" quite literally while escaping the city. Find the rift to destroy it and turn the city back to normal. The crystals should disrupt the rift if thrown into the heart of the tear.
Low danger level.
It's a beautiful day in Station Square, the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the citizens are going about their day, the sky is.... green? The buildings are red? People everywhere are painted a plethora of colors, and the confusion is apparent in the voice of the crowds and the way everyone wandered aimlessly. Nobody seems to be hurt or affected mentally, but this is still quite the problem.
As you walk down the street you notice that the tall, normally steel colored buildings are all shades of red. As you look up, the contrast of the red buildings and green skies is quite disorienting. Upon looking back down to gain your footing, you notice your arms. What?! I wasn't this color before!
You can feel you skin crackle. Some sort of force is permeating the otherwise crisp air, but where is it coming from? This problem needs to go, I mean how are people supposed to shop in these conditions? You can't color coordinate clothing like this! Honestly...
That's odd, is that a shard of glass? No, it looks more like crystal. Could this have something to do with the rifts? Better keep it just in case...

Somewhere in the higher ups of Station square in the penthouse suite at a five star hotel a loud incessant beeping awoke the slumbering Mobian underneath the sheets, loud groans could be heard as the hand of a hedgehog picked up the source of the beeping, a cell phone, opening it and turning it onto loud speaker the hedgehog spoke to it "Hello?" he asked in a wavering tired voice "Arthur your needed to investigate an unknown anomaly in the city, colours are changing and some locals are becoming aggressive, you are to investigate and report" spoke a feminine voice which held a slight British accent "Understood" replied Arthur as he groaned and closed the cellphone and slowly stepped out of bed, dragging his feet to the bathroom.
Arthur had constantly been on the move since before becoming an agent for The Order, having once settled down into a cosy office he was attacked a few weeks later by his nemesis Mordecai, forever hunting him. This attack led to Arthur attacking Mordecai's gang hide out massacring three quarter's of his gang, creating a blood bath he was shortly stopped by his wife Alkira, back then they weren't married of course and since then Arthur has been on the move from hotel to hotel, even after marrying Alkira and buying her and Zareb a proper house for them to live in, he could not join them and was constantly hunted by Mordecai and his gang and thus even as an employee of The Order, he still needed to be on the move.
When Arthur finally arrived in the bathroom he slowly opened the medicine cabinet to remove tooth paste, closing the cabinet he finally got a look at himself for the first time today, crying out in surprise, Arthur couldn't recognise the hedgehog staring back at him, red fur and yellow eyes with black eyes instead of normal white, with purple skin the hedgehog finally got a good look at his surroundings, everything was different colours and didn't seem quite right, looking again Arthur couldn't believe that he was now standing on the roof instead of on the floor.
"What the hell is happening?" he asked himself as he looked at his body before he narrowed his eyes remembering his mission "I should probably end this quickly" he said as he quickly brushed his teeth and finished his morning ritual, getting dressed in his normal clothes which consisted now of a black under shirt with a white hoodie with dark blue lines down the sleeves with light green jeans and dark blue shoes, holstering his weapons which now consisted of a blue and gold pair of guns and a light green knife.
He made his way quickly out of the hotel and began running towards the source of the commotion, to figure this all out.

Coal was walking down the sidewalk through Station Square, his face showing confusion as he looked around the cityscape. "The hell is going on here?" he grunted loudly looking at his dark gray hands that matched the rest of his fur. His jacket was a vibrant pink and his cargo pants were a neon blue, hardly the attire a sane mobian would wear. "This is hardly the time for random pallet changes to occur, I mean I was planning to enjoy a movie, but with all this happening, the actors are probably going to be an annoying bright green or something." Sighing, Coal continued to walk through the city streets to find some sort of clue.

She was only supposed to be at Station Square for a week until the flooding in her hometown, Soleanna, went down. Now, how on Mobius could she choose an outfit for the day? Blue and orange certainly did NOT go together.
It had only been yesterday when her fur color was a mauve, and her skin, a soft beige. This morning, waking up in her cousin's guest bedroom, she could have sworn that the sapphire curtains were casting an overlay onto herself. No, her fur had turned blue. A Sonic the Hedgehog blue, to make matters worse. Her muzzle and the insides of her ears were a fushia, much like the previous shade of the curtains prior to the morning. As she dashed into the bathroom through her cousin's now multi-colored apartment, the window overlooking Town Center showed a city matching the hues of a child's toybox. The skyscrapers were red, the sky was green, plants were many shades of violet.
Chaos. Pure chaos everywhere. The business of the city was one thing, but now, everyone was terribly confused! How are you supposed to tell traffic with pink, grey, and brown traffic lights?
Worst of all, her casual dress that she wore was now a terrible contrasting one. Lime green and mango orange? With a dark purple for the trim? This was either cruel fate or something was going on, because there was no way any Mobian could be beautiful in a fruit cocktail-colored dress.
At least it was only temporary...right? She wouldn't have to be colored like that famous hedgehog wearing a fruit salad? Either way, screaming and angrily gazing at her new apparel in the mirror wasn't going to change anything. Quickly, she rummaged through her cousin's drawer, searching for something normal, and not rainbow. She threw on her light pink hoodie (it was an off black at one point) and a pair of dark green jeans, strapped on her boots, and ran outside to find out what was going on.
"Symph..." her cousin mumbled, still drowsy from sleep, "Where are you going with those?" she lazily pointed at her clothes.
"I'll be back, Carol," Symph grinned, keeping back laughter from seeing her cousin's hot pink fur, "I won't be long."
"Mmmmkay..."

Emerald didn't like this at all. She loved the color green, she wore a lot of it on her. From her eyelids and lipstick, to her shirt and sandals and the tips of her hair. But now all the green on her became a gross brown color. She walked around, trying to wipe the brown off her lips and she also changed into Angie's light blue shirt which was too big for her. She looked horrible and she hated it.
She walked out into the city trying to find out what the heck was going on. She stumbled upon Symph. She then asked her. "Hey, what's up with all the color changes around here?" She hoped to get a good answer.

So utterly annoying, his latest job was turning out to be. Why him, he had no idea; sure he was multi-talented, but what did he know about anything like rifts? They were rather... outside his areas of expertise, suffice it to say. Alright, fine, so he was a light controller to a degree, but what help was that going to be? It wasn't as though he could take any control over these silly color changes. He couldn't even help his own fur from turning from white to a deep, dark blue. Then his vest and pants, that were now white instead of himself. Wonderful.
"Great... of all the stupid things for someone to hire me for, and I had to accept because the pay was so good..." he muttered dejectedly, allowing himself a light, exasperated sigh. "Colors, light... such a pain... well, suppose I should at least try..."
Lacking any other particular leads that weren't wandering around aimlessly hoping to scan every bit of the city, he took a moment instead to toss a light bomb straight into the sky, which he managed, somehow, to keep at a pure white color. Maybe with any luck, it could give him some sort of lead if he watched any color variance it created... that was, assuming it wouldn't blind him too much in the process when it detonated in a sudden flash of light high up in the air.

This was outrageous. The entire city looked like a rainbow exploded. Mobians still looked dazed, trying to figure out the sky from the buildings, and all of the sudden color contrasts. A few of them looked familiar to her...maybe she had seen them in missions to capture demons, or maybe not...either way, approaching someone might be the best idea. Demons weren't known to alter colors of anything, so more than likely, someone's evildoing.
Of course, Symph would still keep an eye out.
She new a couple of them, to start. A red Arthur, a dark grey Coal... most of them were new, or just different colors, but it didn't matter. Someone should be able to help out.
"Hey!" she yelled out to everyone, "anyone have any sort of lead or something?"

Arthur had made his way out onto the street when he found other Mobians moving towards the source of the 'double rainbow' problem, recognising some with different colours he looked towards a bat he knew, a female bat named Symph
"No but I figure whatever the source of this colour change is, it's a lead.." he said to her shrugging as he walked towards the commotion rather than run, he wasn't in a rush and aside from the painful colour scheme it wasn't life threatening."

Coal arrived on the scene with a disgruntled look on his face. "Along with that lead none of this is dangerous right? I'm not gonna feint or become poisoned by all these crazy color pallets am I?" his sarcastic question fused into both serious and annoyed with the situation as he wanted to fix this as soon as he could.

The ferret who is now covered in an ugly brown color walked over to them. She was very confused. "Hey uh, you guys know what the heck is going on around here? My green make up is now very ugly-looking, not to mention the fact that my fur is now a hot pink." She was really annoyed, she looked like a chocolate covered raspberry!

Symph winced at the ferret's unusual color scheme, but then remembered how messed up hers was, as well. "This isn't harmless from what I've seen," she stated to the other two, "from what I've seen. No one's hurt or anything, just...confused," Symph remarked as she looked up to the contrasting buildings and sky. Hopefully Soleanna was better off...
As she focused back on the group, something glittered by a drainage pipe near them. "Hold on a sec..." she mumbled as she ran over. The glow couldn't have been something as large as a Chaos Emerald, and had to be as big as a littered candy bar wrapper, reflecting from the sun. She approached the object, noticing a shard-like object...wait, glass? No, a crystal? What the heck was this think, anyway?
"Any of you know what this is?" Symph asked as she walked back to the group.

"Oh, my!" Sabrina was in awe at the landscape. It was a nice, relaxed day; no school, no work, and thus the teenager decided that she should go for a walk. The colors were, to her, marvelous. She had woken up to find herself a soft pink where her green would be, and mud brown on her white fur, with her blonde and pink hair gone blue and plum, respectively. It had been a fun surprise to see her eyes three shades of neon when she looked in the mirror, and her clothes all sorts of whacky colors.
If anything, this was awesomely fun. She wanted to go out and soak up as much of this phenomenon as possible, and that's just what she did. Here she was, half an hour later, still skipping down streets. Oh, if someone had a camera... Would everything look normal on film, or not? She didn't know, but wished she had a camera to find out.

It had been a month since Grimm had ended up in Mobius and he was looking for an apartment in Station Square. While looking around at a few promising places to call his new home, the colors of everything around him began to change. It was like a rainbow had exploded and the colors had splatted all over the place.
"Sweet mother of Toon," Grimm said to himself, "This is actually kinda...:
He stopped in mid-sentence when he saw that his jacket had turned golden yellow and his shorts had turned bright blue. At first, Grimm found these new colors to be cool. Then, he looked in the lobby mirror of the building where he had been looking for apartments to discover his fur had turned 100% orange and his eyes had turned completely black.
Grimm walked out of the building and looked around, confused. As he walked through the Technicolor city, he noticed something at his feet. It looked like a crystal. Grimm picked it up and eyed it curiously.
"Might come in handy later," Grimm thought to himself, as he stuffed it in his jacket pocket and headed off to try to find someone who might know something about what was going on.
